How can someone get involved?

We would love to see members of the congregation getting involved, from helping out at the CAP Centre to participating in or running CAP Money. Support Workers are an integral part of the CAP Centre ministry and are needed to come on client visits, be-friend our clients, helping clients with DIY, client events etc.

But there are also other ways for people to support CAP directly:

Supporting CAP: The primary need of CAP is funding, so that we can continue our work in New Zealand. As we receive no government funding and are a faith-based organisation, we always need financial support. We have a regular giving program called ‘Life Changers’ which basically offers people the opportunity to support us regularly and so help to change lives around New Zealand. People often ask if it is better to give a large one-off donation or to contribute a smaller amount regularly and we would always promote the latter option, as we find regular, smaller income much more useful for our planning purposes – not that we’re discouraging people from giving a one-off gift! We really do value however, those people who give even just a few dollars a month to CAP – we have supporters who manage do this from a very minimal budget and we really value the contribution which they make, it really does change lives. Volunteering: CAP Head Office also requires volunteers to help out with office administration – although these tasks can sometimes be quite mundane, even half a day’s volunteering is so greatly appreciate and an enormous help to us. The friendly staff at Head Office are also a lot of fun to be around, so that’s always an added incentive!

Prayer: We have a prayer team whom we keep updated with information about what CAP is doing and we really value the support of this team as they hold us up before God in prayer. As a faith-based organisation we are fully reliant upon God to provide for us through His abundant resources and to work in the lives of our clients.
